IT Master Plan, also called the IT Strategic Plan, is a fundamental instrument for formulating, conducting, managing, and communicating the vision of the IT function. It is the product of an accurate assessment process of the internal and external context of an organization, containing several analyses and scenarios of the entire IT project portfolio.
The IT Master Plan must consider the organization’s goals. Based on these guidelines, it develops perspectives, intentions, objectives, and guidelines for implementing the changes and adjustments desired for the Organization. PDTI seeks to establish elements of competitive advantage for the Organization, through innovative and differentiating components, always considering operational efficiency.
We can say that PDTI is a direct offshoot of organizational strategic planning, specifically focused on orchestrating all platforms and information systems.
