IT Intelligence

IT Intelligence

There are several strategies capable of making IT more aligned with the business and maximizing results as a whole

Winning business strategies are often supported by solid IT planning. In other words, it is not enough to invest in software and hardware, it is necessary to have a well-defined IT Master Plan, processes that lead the company to the actual Digital Transformation, and a set of norms, policies, and guidelines designed exclusively to leverage the business (IT Governance).

When it comes to IT intelligence, it is essential to optimize IT management processes, design your architecture, define the most viable solutions and applications (ERP, CRM, BI, SCM, among others), and know the Total Cost of Ownership. With this approach, it is possible to better incorporate the mechanisms of security and compliance policies, in addition to making IT more aligned with business objectives.

Case

Changing the strategic relevance of the IT area: from cost control to added value

Scenario

One of the main mining companies in Brazil developed its IT strategic plan with TGT. In the discussion and formatting of the plan, one of the main objectives was to move the area from its original situation, of “localized strength”, to a proactive scenario, in a position of greater relevance within the organization.

Approach

This project started with the definition of an IT governance model and continued with the design of a road map for the solutions. A selection and improvement of the fundamental attributes of support to the business were made below: solutions, services, processes, methods, and procedures. We end with a benchmarking using exclusive TGT practices.

Results

We implemented IT governance with processes and tools that provide the customer with strategic and tactical management of their operations, always in line with business guidelines. We define and implement the mechanisms of security and compliance policies, architecture, budgets, prioritization, and contract management. Finally, roles and responsibilities, relationships, and services were also reviewed.
